Florida Wrestling Battalion began Training in 2011 on a patio with a 10x10 foldable wrestling mat.
The Battalion became Charger Wrestling Club (CWC) in in 2016. CWC placed 8th in Gold Bracket at Nationals in it's inaugural year (2017) returning home with 8 All-Americans. The tradition continued for years.
This was under the leadership of Hillsborough County Wrestling Alumni - Coaches Cranston Gittens, Willie Knighten, and Abe Fernandez. Training Wrestlers from all over the Central/South Florida regions.
Now, with a new vision and new commitment, the new "Florida Wrestling Battalion" will cultivate excellence on the Mat. Coaches and Clinicians are hand picked to ensure all who come aboard is in line with the Vision.
DI - DII - DIII & NAIA Athletes, College Coaches, Active Military & Military Veterans, as well as
Business Owners & Business Leaders.
Steven Stairs joined wrestle with the intention of training for the United States Marine Corps.
He now serves in the Marines as an
Non-Commissioned Officer.
Cody Chaney is currently the most successful Wrestler. Cody finished HS as an FHSAA 3A State Runner-Up. He went on to win an
NCAA National Championship and served as the Head Coach of Emmanuel University and a Assistant Coach at Midway University.
Kip Wynne started Wrestling in HS and worked tirelessly to achieve his goals.
He is now a Marine Officer, serving our nation.
Jackie Font achieved great success during her High School Career placing at the
State Championships.
Jackie went on to wrestle for Life University. Afterwards, Jackie began her Coaching Career.
D.J. began wrestling late in his High School years. However, he made a name for himself with his ability to learn quickly and be relentless. D.J. went on compete at State.
D.J. wrestled at Life University. Then, he entered the MMA World and stamped his name in the books winning multiple Titles before joining the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships and competing.
Chas Waller trained day and night with the dream of competing on the State-level.
He not only reached that goal, he also became a State Placer, leaving his own legacy.
He went on to new height graduating from University of Florida.
"Nick" Reiser finished a wonderful High School Career.
Following High School he began
bodybuilding and graduated from
Florida Gulf Coast University.
He's a great example to his generation.
Christy Font placed her mark in the books during High School placing in the State Championships.
Christy went on to wrestle for Life University.
